Why it is here
- The song was written by Wonder as part of an agreement to give guitarist Jeff Beck a song, after learning Beck admired his music, and the two improvised the riff and beat together in the studio. source
- It gave Wonder his first number-one Billboard Hot 100 single since "Fingertips, Pt. 2" in 1963, and earned him two Grammy Awards for Best Rhythm & Blues Song and Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male. source
- The clavinet riff, played by Wonder himself on a Hohner Clavinet model C, has been singled out as one of his most memorable uses of the minor pentatonic scale. source
