Why it is here
- The song was salvaged from Pete Townshend's abandoned rock opera Lifehouse, where it was written to be sung by a Scottish farmer beginning a journey to London. source
- Its signature keyboard pattern grew out of Townshend's attempt to feed Meher Baba's vital signs and personality into a synthesiser, before he instead recorded it on a Lowrey organ using its marimba repeat feature. source
- The track features Dave Arbus of East of Eden on violin alongside the Who's core lineup. source
