Why it is here
- The song was ranked No. 272 on Rolling Stone's 2021 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and Rolling Stone praised Phil Lynott's 'Gaelic soul' vocal and the twin-guitar lead by Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson as crucial to the song's success. source
- Q magazine placed it at No. 38 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks, and it won a 1976 NME Award for Best Single. source
- Guitarist Scott Gorham credited the song's unexpected radio push in Louisville, Kentucky as what kickstarted sales of the Jailbreak album and, in his view, kept the band from breaking up. source
