What Rotation is
Rotation publishes a daily chart of which songs are gaining fastest across music platforms worldwide, and an edited explanation of why. The site is free to read. These terms cover that reading.
Rotation is operated by Apropos Studio, LLC. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Apropos Studio, LLC.
Where the numbers come from
Rotation observes chart positions published by music platforms and computes its own momentum score from how those positions move over time and across markets. The score, the ranking, the written explanations and the design are ours. The underlying chart positions are facts reported by the platforms named in the credit line on every page.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any music platform. Platform names and logos are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the source of a measurement.
Accuracy, and the absence of a promise
We publish our methodology and the receipts behind every ranking so you can check our work. We still make no warranty that the chart is accurate, complete or current. Sources change their publishing without notice, some lag by days, and coverage gaps are stated openly on the site rather than hidden. Nothing here is financial, commercial or investment advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for licensed industry data.
Quoting and citing us
Quote us. Screenshot us. Cite a rank, a score, a date or a line from an edition in your article, video, newsletter or post. All we ask is that you name Rotation and, where the medium allows, link to rotation.today.
What we ask you not to do
Do not scrape, crawl or systematically extract the site in bulk, or reproduce the chart in substantial part so as to stand in for it. Rotation exists because somebody has to keep the tape; a mirror of our dataset is a different thing from a citation.
Do not present our figures as another party’s, strip the attribution from a card, misrepresent what a number measures, or use the site in a way that interferes with its operation.
If you want the underlying data for research, journalism or a product, write to us instead of taking it. The answer is often yes.
The email edition
Subscribing is free and unsubscribing is one click. We send the daily edition and occasional notes about the product. We do not sell or share the list. See the privacy page for what we store.
Embedded players and outbound links
Song pages may embed official players from music platforms, and we link out to platforms and to the sources cited in our explanations. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we would rather know. Corrections are made on the page and noted in the next edition rather than made silently. Published editions are archived as they were published; we do not rewrite history.
Availability
The site is provided as is. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and a source disappearing is a normal event in this category rather than an exceptional one.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of Rotation will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
