Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
The song reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for nine weeks, and Billboard ranked it the eleventh-highest selling song of 1972. [1] It was selected by the Library of Congress in 2010 for the National Recording Registry as a recording deemed culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and the 1971 Hi Records recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. [2] Rolling Stone ranked it the 60th greatest song of all time on its 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. [3]
In culture
Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
