Momentum

This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.

Why it's here

The song won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 1999 Grammy Awards. [1] Its music video, directed by Adam Yauch under the pseudonym Nathanial Hörnblowér, staged a Kaiju-film-style battle between a giant robot and an octopus-headed creature filmed in Tokyo's Shibuya and Shinjuku stations, and won Best Hip-Hop Video at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. [2] It became the Beastie Boys' third and final top-40 US single and remains their biggest UK hit. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
