Why it's here

Joel wrote the song after being surrounded by Christie Brinkley, Whitney Houston, and Elle Macpherson, and it evolved from being about his relationship with Macpherson into also being about Brinkley, who he would later marry. [1] Joel said the song's sound was directly inspired by the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, a resemblance Cash Box also noted, saying Joel sounded 'uncannily like Frankie Valli'. [2] The song was the UK's second-best-selling single of 1983, behind only Culture Club's 'Karma Chameleon,' which Joel had actually knocked off the number-one spot on November 1, 1983. [3]
