"Talibans," released January 20, 2023 by St. Kitts-based artist Byron Messia, has remained a regional dancehall standard in the Caribbean, and was certified platinum in the US, as reported in April 2025. [1] The song's reach was extended by the July 2023 remix "Talibans II" with Burna Boy, which gave Messia his first Billboard Hot 100 entry and made him the first Saint Kitts and Nevis artist on that chart. [2] At the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards, "Talibans" won Dancehall Song of the Year and its Burna Boy version won Collaboration of the Year. [3]
