The recording was used on the soundtrack of the 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning, where it has been read as commentary on drag ball culture's ideas of "realness." [1] It was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame on September 19, 2005. [2] The song was sampled in Father MC's 1990 rap hit "I'll Do 4 U." [3]
