"Under the Influence" was originally a 2019 deep cut from the extended edition of Chris Brown's album Indigo that became a hit only in 2022 after short-form video use on TikTok prompted RCA to work it to radio for the first time, reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. [1] The song topped Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart dated March 25, 2023, giving Brown his 10th No. 1 on that radio-based ranking, which established it as a long-term rhythmic and R&B radio recurrent. [2] Brown named his 2023 UK, Europe, Ireland and Jamaica concert tour the Under the Influence Tour after the track, keeping the title attached to his live brand. [3]
