"Tennessee Whiskey" is a catalog staple rather than a new release: Stapleton's 2015 recording (from Traveller) was certified RIAA Double Diamond in January 2026, the first country single ever to pass 20 million units in the U.S. [1] The song is Stapleton's cover of the Dean Dillon/Linda Hargrove composition first cut by David Allan Coe in 1981, and his breakout of it came in the duet medley with Justin Timberlake at the 49th CMA Awards on November 4, 2015. [2] Around the August 27, 2026 chart date Stapleton was mid-run on his All-American Road Show stadium and arena tour, which added over 20 dates for 2026 and ran through October 10, 2026 in Kansas City. [3]
