Why it's here

The title track from the Super Fly soundtrack, its lyrics celebrate the craftiness and determination of the film's main character and it plays over the film's closing credits. [1] The bassline and rototom percussion break from its introduction have been sampled repeatedly, including by Beastie Boys on "Egg Man," The Notorious B.I.G. on "Intro," and Nelly on "Tilt Ya Head Back." [2] Mayfield himself later sampled the song for "Superfly 1990," a duet with Ice-T recorded for the soundtrack of The Return of Superfly. [3]
