Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
Bowie mapped Mick Ronson's guitar solo by drawing its shape with a crayon or felt-tip pen, a method he said he'd read Frank Zappa also used to guide musicians. [1] The song directly introduces the bisexual alien rock messiah Ziggy Stardust as the third track on the concept album, following the disaster narrative set up in 'Five Years' and 'Soul Love'. [2] It appears in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy and on its soundtrack, and was the only song on that soundtrack added in post-production, chosen by director James Gunn over Glen Campbell's 'Wichita Lineman' and Three Dog Night's 'Mama Told Me (Not to Come)'.
