Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)

Momentum

This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.

Why it's here

This was Deftones' first single to chart in the US, reaching number 29 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. [1] It was reportedly influenced by Depeche Mode's 'Never Let Me Down Again' and leans toward a dreamy, shoegaze-influenced alternative rock sound rather than the straightforward nu metal of its era. [2] Critics have ranked it among Deftones' best songs, with Ian Cohen of Uproxx naming it the band's greatest song and crediting it with helping the band escape being seen as a Korn-shadowed cult act. In culture

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
