Momentum

This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.

Why it's here

It marked the debut of Duran Duran as a three-piece with Nile Rodgers producing and playing guitar alongside drummer Steve Ferrone and the Borneo Horns. [1] The song was sampled in the Notorious B.I.G.'s 1999 posthumous hit "Notorious B.I.G." and has been used by mixed martial artist Conor McGregor as his walkout song. [2] The music video, shot in black-and-white Super-8 with a hand-held camera, was choreographed by Paula Abdul and featured a young Christy Turlington, whose photo became the album cover. [3]

In culture

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.

Every date here is the date the source chart covers, never the date we fetched it. Sources publish on different lags: the Spotify mirror runs about two days behind, TurnTable publishes weekly.
