"Mr. Blue Sky" is a 1977 Jeff Lynne composition from ELO's album Out of the Blue, issued as a single in January 1978 and reaching No. 6 on the UK singles chart. [1] The song scores the opening title sequence of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and has also been used in films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, keeping it in circulation on catalogue and radio playlists decades after release. [2]
