Why it's here

"Sa'alouni El Nas" dates to 1972, when Mansour Rahbani wrote the lyrics as a message of longing from Fairouz to her husband Assi Rahbani after he suffered a brain hemorrhage during rehearsals for the musical "Al Mahatta," with the melody composed by their then-17-year-old son Ziad Rahbani. [1] Its composer Ziad Rahbani died in July 2025, and in January 2026 Fairouz buried a second son, Hali Rahbani, keeping the Rahbani catalogue in Arab news coverage. [2] Fairouz herself remained the subject of Arab media attention in 2026, when Lebanon's Musicians Syndicate publicly denied reports of her death or retirement in April of that year. [3]
