Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
"The Chain" is the closing track of side one of Fleetwood Mac's 1977 album Rumours and is the only song on it credited to all five band members, and it became the theme music for BBC television's Formula One coverage, used from 1978 to 1996 and again from 2009 to 2015 before Channel 4 retained it from 2016. [1] Channel 4 kept the track as its Formula One title music from 2016 to 2018, extending the song's association with British F1 broadcasts that began with the BBC's Grand Prix programme in 1978. [2] The song is also part of the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 soundtrack for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), where it plays during the film's climax, keeping it in regular catalogue rotation. Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
