Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
Sinatra's 1964 recording, arranged by Quincy Jones with Count Basie, became the version played aboard Apollo 10 and Apollo 11 as it orbited and approached the Moon. [1] For this recording Quincy Jones changed the song's original 3/4 time signature into a driving 4/4 swing arrangement for Sinatra and Count Basie. [2] The song's Apollo 11 connection was later honored at the mission's 40th anniversary ceremony and again at Neil Armstrong's 2012 memorial service. [3]
In culture
Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
