Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
On 2 August 2026 Gala appeared as a surprise guest at Peggy Gou's London day party at the Old Royal Naval College to perform "Freed From Desire" live, as reported on 4 August 2026. [1] The 1996 track is a stadium staple: RTÉ reported during the 2026 World Cup that its "na-na-na" hook was being sung in the stands, a football afterlife that began when Wigan Athletic fan Sean Kennedy posted the "Will Grigg's on fire" version in May 2016 and Northern Ireland supporters carried it through UEFA Euro 2016. [2] Gala re-recorded the song in October 2024 via Ministry of Sound/B1 Recordings, released with a Diplo remix, to reclaim rights and royalties she says the original contract denied her. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
