Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
The song was recorded at Hansa Studio by the Wall in West Berlin with Iggy Pop, Ricky Gardiner, David Bowie on piano, Carlos Alomar on guitar, and Tony and Hunt Sales on bass and drums. [1] The lyrics were inspired by a Jim Morrison poem called "The Lords" that viewed modern life as a journey by car, as well as by rides on the Berlin S-Bahn. [2] The song has remained a mainstay of Pop's live performances and was later used in a car commercial, prompting its 1998 single release. [3]
In culture
Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
