Why it's here
The song became Kansas's only single to reach the US top ten, peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. [1] It was recorded at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville with Kerry Livgren on a borrowed Martin D-28 acoustic guitar and Robby Steinhardt's electric violin, with Steve Walsh singing lead vocals despite having briefly resigned from the band. [2] During Myanmar's 8888 Uprising, composer Naing Myanmar set new lyrics to the song's tune as the protest anthem "Kabar Ma Kyay Buu," which was later revived during civil disobedience protests after the 2021 coup. [3]
