"Chicago" is a track from Michael Jackson's 2014 posthumous album Xscape, built from a vocal Jackson recorded at New York's Hit Factory in 1999 during the Invincible sessions and reworked by Timbaland; it was never issued as a commercial single. [1] Antoine Fuqua's Jackson biopic "Michael," starring Jaafar Jackson, opened in US theaters on April 24, 2026 after a Berlin premiere on April 10, 2026. [2] Variety reported in 2026 that the biopic's success — past $700 million worldwide — sent Jackson's catalog back up the streaming charts and lifted "Chicago" into the top 30 of US Spotify and the top 100 of YouTube's US Top Songs, even though the song does not appear in the film. [3]
