"Unwritten" is a long-running catalogue staple that served as the theme song for MTV's reality series The Hills, which ran from 2006 to 2010, and was re-recorded with producer Linda Perry as the theme for the 2019 reboot The Hills: New Beginnings. [1] Its modern streaming base was rebuilt by its plot-central placement in Will Gluck's 2023 romcom Anyone But You, starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, which returned the 2004 song to the Official UK Singles Chart Top 20 at Number 18 in January 2024. [2] Bedingfield has continued to keep the song in circulation, discussing its endurance in a short documentary covered by Rolling Stone in September 2025 and headlining Fordham University's 2026 Spring Weekend concert. [3]
