"U.N.I.T.Y.," released as a single from Queen Latifah's 1993 album Black Reign, won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1995 ceremony for its verses answering street harassment and the labeling of women in hip-hop. [1] The Library of Congress added the recording to the National Recording Registry in 2023, making Queen Latifah the first female rapper with a song selected for the registry. [2] Queen Latifah returned to national television as host of the 2026 American Music Awards in May 2026, 31 years after she last hosted the show. [3]
