Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
The song is a six-minute suite with no refraining chorus, blending an intro, ballad, operatic passage, hard rock section, and coda into one of the few progressive rock songs of the 1970s to reach a mainstream audience. [1] Recording it required bouncing tracks across eight generations of 24-track tape, amassing nearly 200 overdubs, including 180 vocal overdubs for the operatic choir effect created by May, Mercury, and Taylor alone. [2] Its promotional video is credited with furthering the development of the music video medium. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
