Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
The song was Sam Cooke's first serious nod to his gospel roots, reworking Charles Brown and Amos Milburn's 1959 single 'I Want to Go Home' into a secular call-and-response soul number. [1] The recording session brought together an eighteen-piece backing group and friends who were ad-libbing and dancing, giving the track a genuinely festive, communal feel. [2] It has been recognized as one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
