Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
Klaus Meine wrote the song's lyrics after being inspired by playing the Moscow Music Peace Festival in August 1989 at Lenin Stadium in front of about 300,000 fans, giving the song a firsthand link to the end of the Cold War. [1] With estimated sales of 14 million copies worldwide, it is cited as one of the best-selling singles of all time and holds the record for the best-selling single by a German artist. [2] The band presented a gold record and $70,000 in royalties to Mikhail Gorbachev in 1991, with Soviet news reporting the money would go to children's hospitals. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
