Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
The song was famously used in Quentin Tarantino's 1992 film Reservoir Dogs for the scene in which Mr. Blonde tortures a bound policeman while singing and dancing to it, a use Tarantino says was the choice of nearly every actor who auditioned for the role. [1] The track was produced by legendary songwriting/production duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. [2] It was written by Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan as a parody of Bob Dylan's vocal style and lyrical persona, depicting a dismissive tale of a music industry cocktail party, so convincingly that listeners have mistakenly credited it to Dylan. Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
