Kendrick Lamar wrote and raps two original verses on the remix, which Swift personally invited him to join after the two admired each other's work. [1] The remix became Kendrick Lamar's first career number-one Hot 100 single and Swift's fourth, and it broke the Pop Songs airplay chart's record for most single-week plays in the chart's 22-year history. [2] The music video, directed by Joseph Kahn, features an ensemble 'squad' cast including Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, and Cindy Crawford, and won the Grammy Award for Best Music Video plus MTV VMAs for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration.
