Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
Dickey Betts wrote the instrumental to be playable with only two fingers on the left hand, as a tribute to gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, who lost use of two fingers to burns. [1] The song became the opening theme for the original BBC series Top Gear and its 2002 revival, and has also appeared in films including Field of Dreams and Fear. [2] A later live recording of the tune won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 38th Annual Grammy Awards in 1996. [3]
In culture
Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
