Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
It became the Allman Brothers Band's first and only top 10 single, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. [1] Written by Dickey Betts as a country-leaning tune the band was initially reluctant to record, it features guitarist Les Dudek's live-recorded harmony parts and was one of bassist Berry Oakley's last contributions before his death. [2] AllMusic called its chorus 'perhaps the catchiest and prettiest hook in all of Southern rock,' and Robert Christgau described the tune as 'miraculous'. [3]

Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
