Why it's here
The song was performed by the Cars at the Philadelphia leg of the 1985 Live Aid concert and used as the soundtrack to a David Bowie–introduced CBC montage on Ethiopian famine at the Wembley leg. [1] Paul McCartney cited "Drive" as an influence on the sound of his 1986 album Press to Play. [2] Its music video, directed by actor Timothy Hutton, starred a then-19-year-old Paulina Porizkova, who later became Ric Ocasek's wife. [3]
