[1] Reggae band Third World's 1978 cover became a UK top-10 hit (No. 10) and reached No. 47 on the Billboard Hot 100, extending the song's life as a dancefloor and radio staple. [2] Heavy D & the Boyz's 1991 dance/house cover of the song, produced by Teddy Riley, became that group's biggest hit, keeping the composition in circulation across generations. [3]
