Momentum

This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.

Why it's here

The song gave the Rolling Stones their first US number one and later became their fourth UK number one. [1] It was ranked No. 2 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list in 2004, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998, and was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2006. [2] The track's driving guitar riff was created using the Maestro fuzzbox, and its success boosted sales of the Gibson fuzzbox so much that the entire available stock sold out by the end of 1965. Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.

Every date here is the date the source chart covers, never the date we fetched it. Sources publish on different lags: the Spotify mirror runs about two days behind, TurnTable publishes weekly. One recording, one history: this table also counts the rows sources published under 1 other handle of this record (remasters, official videos).
