Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
Cochrane wrote the song, originally titled "Love Is a Highway" in the 1970s during his time in Red Rider, after being encouraged to revisit an old demo by John Webster, an instrumentalist on the Mad Mad World album. [1] The lyrics were shaped by Cochrane's trip to eastern Africa with the World Vision famine relief organization, as he tried to make sense of the poverty he witnessed there. [2] It was Tom Cochrane's only top-40 hit in the United States. [3]
