Momentum
This song has not appeared on a Rotation chart, so it has no score and no receipts. The rank history below is the ledger; a score is only published once the momentum run puts it on a chart.
Why it's here
"Freedom" was written and produced by George Michael, giving Wham! their second UK number one after "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". [1] The song's melody was significant enough that Michael reused its chorus as the church-organ introduction to his later song "Faith". [2] The accompanying music video was filmed in Beijing, marking Wham! as the first Western pop band to play in China. [3]
In culture
Every place this record has lived. A solid chip states a fact and carries the citation that earns it; a dashed one is a connection somebody drew, and carries their name instead.
